We went on a weekend getaway to New Hampshire a couple weeks ago. Lucas served his mission in the New Enland area and wanted to go visit one of his old wards and some of the families he met. Plus this time of year it is absolutely beautiful. We took a lot of pictures of the scenery but I don't think we came close to doing justice to how vibrant and mezmorizing the colors really are. It's definitely something worth seeing in person. We didn't really have a plan other than to get there and then figure it out. The first night we ate at one of Lucas' favorite delis from his mission, a place called Beidermens. And I have to say after all the talk up Lucas did of the place, it really lived up to it's reputation. The sandwiches there are like nothing you've ever had. It's like an unbelievable taste sensation with every bite. If you ever go to the Ashland area of New Hampshire I highly recommend you stop in and have a sandwich. Then we went and visited one of the families Lucas taught and from them found out that the following day was the big Sandwich fair. Sandwich is a town in New Hampshire. So we decided to go. We parked in an open field a mile or so from the fairgrounds and then rode in a big old school bus to the fair site. Connor thought it was pretty dang cool to ride on a school bus. The fair was a lot of fun. It's mostly a live stock fair where people come and show off their live stock and in some cases sell and trade them. There was one station with miniature horses which Connor just loved. After the fair we headed to the outlet mall and while we were there we let Connor and Lucy play on the playground. Lucy absolutely loved the swing. And we all brought the day to an end with some awesome soft serve ice cream. Lucy feeling left out kept trying to reach for Connors. The next day was Sunday which we spent going to church and then afterwards we had lunch at Mamma and Pappa Smiths house (that's what Lucas calls them). After some good few and a couple hours of chit chat it was time to head home. Although it was a short trip it was probably one of the most fun getaways I've ever done.

Your blog is super cute! It will be fun to keep in touch with you better now!
Laurie-
I am glad Lucas is home now and you all have him there with you. I can't believe you were just in New Hampshire, I don't know if you knew but that's where we live. The falls are awesome but the winters SUCK. It's nice to see what's going on with your family, you should check out our blog, norsethfamily.blogspot.com.
